BRONZE LEAGUE TEAMS GRAB WIN DESPITE OPPONENTS' THIRD PERIOD SHOWINGS

-Stover Homes’ Outlaws defeat Finish Line Collision (7-1)
The Stover Homes’ “Outlaws” dominated the entire Sunday night game from the start of the first period. Outlaws’ goalie, Dave Freeman, held back all attempts throughout the first and second periods, as Mark Hoffman (unassisted) made the first goal on a power play. Minutes later, Dan Matta (unassisted) made a short-handed goal. In the second, Ray McCloskey (assist: Martin Scullin) grabbed the only goal during the period. In the third, the Outlaws made three consecutive goals by Petr Lyseil (assists: Dan Matta, #71), Mark Hoffman (assists: Keith Younus, Petr Lyseil) and Hoffman’s hat-trick (assist: Richard Ortega). In the final minutes, “Finish Line” Collision’s Chris Mukoda (unassisted) struck a goal on a power play; however, in the final seconds, the Outlaws’ Dan Matta (assist: #71) answered with a final goal offering the team the (7-1) win.
In the second game of the night, the Mad Dogs took on Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles”. Both teams’ goalies: Joe Worts (JL Eagles) and Joseph Subrick (Mad Dogs) held back all attempts during the first and second periods. In the third, however, the Mad Dogs’ Bradley Orvis (assist: Chris Good) struck first and were followed by another goal from Andrew Whitman (assists: Robert Genova, #6). Despite a goal from JL Eagles’ David Schreffler (assist: Scott Brown) in the final seconds, the Mad Dogs held onto the win by one point for a (2-1) finish.
The Centre Ice Rink at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington offers an adult (18+) hockey league; men and women are encouraged to join. The League is USA Hockey certified and Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) affiliated. Per USA Hockey standards, placement is based on interest, experience and ability. The Bronze League is designed for those players who are interested in organized hockey. The depth of talent will span the entire range of skill and age. The Bronze League competes each Sunday evening.
