Press Release
CENTRE ICE RINK'S ROUND THREE PLAYOFFS ALLOWED TWO TEAMS TO ADVANCE WHILE TWO WERE ELIMINATED
HARRINGTON, DE - March 29, 2006
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The playoff game between “Finish Line” Collision and the NAPA “Predators” was closely matched as the game tied in the second period and ended with a one-point lead.
In the first, the Predators’ Richard Wawrzeniak (a.k.a. WAWA) (assist: James Trabaudo, Jr.) scored the only goal for the period as goalie, Gregory Gries, held back all attempts.
At the top of the second, it looked as if the Predators were going to own the game as Mike Grosso (assists: Wawrzeniak, Trabaudo) and Trabaudo (assist: David Jerns) struck goals. However, in the middle of the second period, the tide shifted, as Aaron Trudel (unassisted) grabbed the first goal for Finish Line. The Predators’ Corey Bourque (assist: Cory Perdue) and Troy Palmer (assist: Jacob Lewis) followed with goals.
With a tie game heading into the third, it was anyone’s guess as to how the game would end—except for Trudel who grabbed the final goal (assist: Bourque) and the (4-3) win for Finish Line securing their place in the round four playoffs whereas the Predators were eliminated.

The second playoff game of the night placed the “Mad Dogs” against Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles”. The Mad Dogs grabbed a commanding three point lead by the end of the second period and held the advantage until the end of the game.
In the first period, the Mad Dogs’ Andrew Whitman (assist: Sean King) and King (assist: Robert Genova) scored the only goals in the first period.
In the second, Whitman struck again, but the period would offer a constant back and forth with goals struck by JL Eagles’ Michael Laws (assist: Jon Burgess) and James Rau (assist: David Moyer). Goals were answered by the Mad Dogs’ Chris Good (assists: Mark Sordi, Alan Kovitz) and Genova (unassisted).
At the top of the third period, JL Eagles’ David Schreffler (assist: Michael Bassaro) and David Gist (assist: Schreffler) struck first to narrow their opponent’s lead by one point; however, in the remaining three minutes, Good grabbed another goal (assist: David Porter) and with less than thirty seconds remaining managed a hat trick which gave the Mad Dogs the (7-4) win over the JL Eagles and a spot in the round four playoffs against Finish Line Collision. Sadly, JL Eagles were eliminated.
