DESPITE HEATED ACTION, MAD DOGS ADVANCE TO FINAL PLAYOFF WITH HOPES OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP

HARRINGTON, DE - April 3, 2006

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Sunday, during the round four playoffs, the “Mad Dogs” took on “Finish Line” Collision, and the action was fast-paced from the start. Just two minutes into the game, the Mad Dogs scored a goal from Robert Genova (assist: Andrew Whitman). Finish Line answered with two goals both scored by Corey Bourque (one assist: #12, Cory Perdue).

The Mad Dogs answered with a goal from Sean King (assists: Andrew Whitman, Robert Genova). However, with numerous “great saves” by Finish Line’s goalie, Bryan Burns, and with only :08 left in the first period, Finish Line’s Michael Petit deMange (assist: Troy Palmer, Ron Corder) scored on a power play.

After the back and forth action early in the second, the Mad Dogs’ Sean King got a breakaway goal with nine minutes left in the period to tie the game. With five minutes left in the second, Mad Dogs’ Robert Genova blasted a shot from the point to put the Mad Dogs ahead by one. The Mad Dogs padded their lead with a hat trick from Robert Genova (assist: Andrew Whitman, Sean King) with less than a minute remaining in the second period.

Early in the third, the Mad Dogs kept up the scoring with yet another goal by Sean King (unassisted). Midway through the period, Finish Line looked like they were going to muster a comeback with a goal from Ray Reddington (assist: Bourque). The comeback was stopped minutes later, however, by a goal from the Mad Dogs’ Sean King (assist: Andrew Whitman). The Mad Dogs’ Jerry Sodano came out of the penalty box to score on a breakaway with just :57 left in the game offering the Mad Dogs the (8-4) win over Finish Line.

Through the double elimination playoffs, the Mad Dogs will advance to the fifth round of the playoffs where they’ll go head-to-head with Stover Homes’ Outlaws. The winner will advance to the championship game to play Wilson Contracting’s Stars.
