SOMETIMES OUTLAWS DO WIN ~ Centre Ice Rink's Bronze League Team, Stover Homes' 'Outlaws', Championship Bound

HARRINGTON, DE - April 10, 2006

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Despite a strong third period from the “Mad Dogs”, Stover Homes’ “Outlaws” managed to dominate the rest of the game to bring about their win.

In the first period, the Outlaws struck an unassisted goal in the first few minutes setting the tone of the entire game. Minutes later, Dan Matta (unassisted) grabbed another goal putting the Outlaws ahead (2-0).

Into the second period, Matta (unassisted) struck again; however, this time, his goal was answered by the Mad Dogs’ Jerry Sodano (unassisted). Not wanting to give up their lead, Outlaws’ Keith Younus (unassisted) scored with less than two minutes left in the period.

At the top of the third period, the Mad Dogs’ Mark Sordi (assist: Sodano) netted a puck; however, a comeback was not in store for the team as the Outlaws’ Petr Lyseil (assist: Younus) grabbed another goal. With nearly five minutes left in the game, the Mad Dogs’ managed to score again; however, the Outlaws’ goalie, Dave Freeman, held back all other attempts offering the Outlaws the (5-3) win.

Through the double elimination playoffs, the Outlaws will advance to the championship game where they’ll face the Bronze League’s number one ranked team, Wilson Contracting’s Stars. The championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at The Centre Ice Rink in Harrington. The game is free to spectators.
