TITANS GRAB GAME WIN AND SILVER LEAGUE WIN AT THE CENTRE ICE RINK

HARRINGTON, DE - April 13, 2006

In the final playoff between The Centre Ice Rink’s Silver Adult Hockey League, C.F. Scwartz faced the previous week’s winner, the Titans.

At the top of the game, the Titans’ William Hamilton (assists: #17, David Schoon) grabbed a goal. C.F. Schwartz’s Thomas Weekes (assists: Jamie Garrison, Chris Sloan) answered with a goal of their own. From the start, it looked like this might be a back-and-forth game.

Late into the second period, however, the Titans’ Dave Wilson (assists: Eric Froman, #85) put one into the net. Moments later, teammate David Schoon (assist: #20) scored another to give the Titans the two point lead. Throughout the period, Titans’ goalie, Joe Alvarado, held back all attempts by C.F. Schwartz.

The third period remained intense as both teams and their goalies worked to keep attempts out of the net while trying to offer a strong offense, and with only :19 left in the game, the Titans’ #9 (assists: #10, William Hamilton) succeeded in giving the team the (4-1) win and the seized the win for the league.

The Centre Ice Rink in Harrington will close to prepare for the annual state fair, but will reopen in September. In the fall, The Centre will offer adult (18+) hockey league play—men and women are encouraged to join. The League is USA Hockey certified and Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) affiliated. Per USA Hockey standards, placement is based on interest, experience and ability. The Silver Division is designed for those players who have played organized hockey. The depth of talent is usually consistent throughout the roster and characterized by talented, heads-up play.
