Quick and decisive, Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles” took the lead early in the fourth game of the season on Wednesday night, scoring one minute into the first period. The even strength goal was made by Funston (assist: Laws). Deep into the second period, Funston (assist: Rau) scored again, this time on a power play. The JL Eagles were able to keep the Predators at bay until after their third score in the final period by Rau (assist: Moyer). Then, taking a stand, the Predators went to the net with an unassisted goal from Grosso. Wanting to regain control, JL Eagles’ Laws (assists: Funston, Medford) struck back. The third period action grew in intensity to the final minute. With 59 seconds remaining, the Predators’ Abramson (assist: Grimes) put one in the net, but their goal was answered by a hat trick in the final seconds from JL Eagles’ Funston—leading the JL Eagles to a 5-2 win.

The Centre Ice Rink at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington offers an adult (18+) hockey league; men and women are encouraged to join.
