FIVE POINT LEAD IN THE FIRST ENSURES TITANS THE WIN

In the first game of the season for the Silver League the “Titans” were up against “WOCM” 98.1. The Titans took a tremendous lead in the first period. The first goal for the season was scored by Dave Wilson (assists: Bill Hamilton, Alastair Probert) a mere minute and thirty seconds in. Eric Froman (assist: Hamilton) scored second followed by Probert (assists: Lyon Gordnor, Froman) on a power play, Wilson, unassisted, on a power play, and Hamilton (assist: Froman) also on a power play for a grand total of five goals. The second period slowed to a constant back-and-forth. Titans’ Hamilton (assist: Bob Betts) struck first; however, WOCM’s Tommy Weeks grabbed a goal on a power play which was answered by a hat trick from the Titans’ Wilson (assist: Gordnor). The third period heated up quickly as WOCM made an amazing attempt to catch-up when they scored three goals: Jim Lattanzzi (assists: Jason Lindsay, Angus Patterson), Patterson (assists: Jamie Garrison, Tim Collard), and Chuck Desqulniers (assists: Lattanzzi, Patterson). The Titans, vowing not to be outdone in the third, netted two more including a hat trick from Hamilton (assist: Froman) and yet another from Wilson (assist: Froman). Despite an almost shut-out, WOCM showed strength in the final period attempting to put a halt on the Titans rein; however, the Titans still grabbed the 9-4 win.

The Centre Ice Rink at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington offers an adult (18+) hockey league; men and women are encouraged to join. The League is USA Hockey certified and Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) affiliated. Per USA Hockey standards, placement is based on interest, experience and ability.
