Press Release
BRONZE LEAGUE GAINING IN STRENGTH AND SKILL
HARRINGTON, DE - October 9, 2006
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Excitement fills the air each Sunday night at The Centre Ice Rink when the adult hockey bronze league takes to the ice. Onlookers have witnessed each team develop in terms of skill level and strength—leaving everyone in suspense, until the final buzzer, as to who will win. This past Sunday was no exception.
In the first game of the evening, “Finish Line” Collision took on the NAPA “Predators”. Finish Line was the first to score with a goal made by Raymond Reddington (assist: Ron Corder) on an even strength play. The Predators tied-up the game a few minutes later with a goal by James Trabaudo (assist: Richard Wawrzeniak). Then, striking while the iron was hot, the Predators scored twice more taking the lead with goals by David Abramson (assist: Michael Jeffers) and Trabaudo (assists: Brian Bassett, Robert Bassett, Jr.). There was an abundance of back-and-forth action in the second period with the puck seeing every inch of the ice; however, the puck never saw a net. The third period was an awesome turnaround for Finish Line as they started the ball rolling again with two consecutive goals by Justin Skinner (assists: Garth Baldridge, Aaron Trudel) and Douglas Backus (assist: Reddington). With the game tied, and just over one minute left in the game, Finish Line’s Aaron Trudel scored, unassisted, giving the team the win with a final score of 4-3.
The next game pitted Wilson Contracting’s “Stars” against the “Outlaws”. The first period of the game came and went with only Richard Borrelli scoring, unassisted, for the Stars. In the second period, the Stars kept control with another goal from Borrelli (assist: Felix Karpavage, Jr.) on a power play. The Outlaws put up a fight as Keith Younus (assists: Mark Hoffman, Peter Lysek) put one in the net. The Stars rallied and netted a goal by John McCartney (assists: Russ Moore, Steve Judge). At the end of the third period, the Outlaws grabbed one final goal from Adam Schmidt, unassisted, but it wasn’t enough and lost by one point to the Stars, 3-2.
In the most active and energetic game of the night, Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles” were up against “Seafood City”. It was a game no one should have missed—captivating from the start. In the first period, both teams battled for control as JL Eagles grabbed two goals: James Didonato (assist: Scott Brown) and Mike Laws (assist: James Rau). Although Seafood City’s Bradley Cove put one in the net, it looked as if JL Eagles were headed for the win. In the second period, Seafood City tied-up the game when Sean King sunk one in the net. Seafood City struck again on an even play (4 on 4) with a goal by Philip Klineburger (assist: Corey Bourque). With 27 seconds left in the second period Seafood City pulled one out of their sleeve as Danny Trieslor (assist: David Porter) scored. Trieslor furthered Seafood City’s lead with another goal at the top of the third which proved to be the only goal in the period despite the intensity of play. Seafood City took home the gold with a final score of 5-2.
