FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OUTLAWS DEMOLISH MAD DOGS IN A 14-1 WIN

The Outlaws literally took the puck and ran with it in Sunday night’s Bronze League ice hockey game. The Outlaws completely owned the ice against the Mad Dogs starting thirty seconds into the game with a goal by Daniel Matta (assists: Joe Wobeter, Thomas Cathcart). The Outlaws scored again with a goal by Keith Younus (assist: Cathcart), before Raymond Holland—unassisted for the Mad Dogs—could get one in. Mark Hoffman (assist: Matta) and Cathcart (assists: Mark Hoffman, Wobeter) both scored for the Outlaws followed by a solo goal by Peter Lysek. The last goal of the period was scored by Younus (assists: Lysek, Ray McCloskey) making the final score for the first period 6-1. The Mad Dogs attempted to build a stronger defense in the second period; however, the Outlaws continued to score four additional goals: three from Cathcart giving him a hat trick (assists throughout from Wobeter, Hoffman and Andrew Dahlke) and Adam Schmidt (assist: Cathcart). The clock ran the entire third period due to the Outlaws tremendous lead. The Outlaws were unstoppable and scored four more times in the last period: Randy Hultman (assist: Richard Ortega), Lysek (assist: Schmidt), McCloskey (assist: Martin Scullin), and Wobeter (assists: Ortega, Schmidt). The Mad Dogs gave tremendous effort throughout the game; however, the Outlaws still remained victorious with a 14-1 win.

FINISH LINE COLLIDED WITH JL EAGLES

During the second Bronze League level game of the night, “Finish Line” Collision took the ice against Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles”. Both teams appeared evenly matched as they battled it out during the first period with a lot of back-and-forth puck action resulting in neither team scoring. Fighting hard early in the second, Finish Line’s Michael Petit De Mange (assist: Aaron Trudel) scored the first goal of the game. JL Eagles, however, soon caught up as James Didonato (assists: Jon Burgess, David Gist) snuck one by the goalie. With thirty-eight seconds left on the clock, Brian Page (assist: Matthew Funston) made a terrific shot pulling a 2-1 lead. Finish Line kicked it up a notch in the third period with two consecutive power play goals scored by Justin Skinner (assists: Ray Reddington, Ronald Oronzio). The JL Eagles slid one in when Funston scored on a power play. With both teams tied 3-3 and less than five minutes remaining, the real fighting began. With attempts on both sides, only Finish Line succeeded as Reddington scored unassisted along with Cory Perdue (assist: Troy Palmer). Throughout the game, JL Eagles and Finish Line went head-to-head, but Finish Line was able to pull off the 5-3 win.

WILSON CONTRACTING PREYS ON NAPA PREDATORS

During the most anticipated ice hockey game Sunday night, the NAPA “Predators” went up against Wilson Contracting’s “Stars”. The Stars were already shining in the first period as Michael Arabia, unassisted, grabbed the first goal and was soon followed by teammate John Michalik, also unassisted. The Stars kept control as David Wilson shot another unassisted goal and took the 3-0 lead into the second period. Still controlling the puck, Stars’ Fred Messa (assist: Steve Judge) scored on a power play. Tempers were ever rising as both teams began to clash allowing for plenty of on-the-ice action, yet no goals for the final period. The Stars completely shut-out the Predators, grabbing the 4-0 win.
