DOGFISH HEAD WIPES OUT SHORT HANDED WOCM 98.1

HARRINGTON, DE - November 7, 2006

On Thursday, “WOCM” 98.1 started the game against “Dogfish Head” with a disadvantage—only six players started; a seventh showing up later. After warming up, despite the imbalance in the roster, both teams began banging out the shots. The first was made by Dogfish Head’s Michael Irish (assist: Pat Regan) followed by WOCM’s Jamie Garrison (assists: Thomas Weekes, #25). Then, Charles Desaulniers of WOCM made an unassisted goal followed by a goal from Dogfish Head’s Irish (assist: Regan). As the period came to an end, WOCM’s Garrison (assists: Weekes, #25) slid one right in. The second period started out 3-2 in favor of WOCM; however, that would soon change as Dogfish Head gained control and scored three goals from Matthew Fuller, unassisted, Robert Ruggiero (assists: Irish, Regan), and #01 (assist: Irish). In the final period, Dogfish Head continued to pick-up speed, scoring a grand total of seven goals including a hat trick from Irish. WOCM, however, never ceased to fight and managed to score four goals in the final period. WOCM, exhausted as they were, never backed down, but despite their final attempt at a comeback, Dogfish Head grabbed the 12-7 win.
