DOGFISH HEAD WATCHES CRASH OF THE TITANS

HARRINGTON, DE - November 8, 2006

On Tuesday night at The Centre Ice Rink, the battle between the “Titans” and “Dogfish Head” began early on as Dogfish Head took control and scored on their first attempt with a goal by Michael Irish (assist: Robert Ruggiero). Shortly thereafter, teammate Matthew Fuller (assist: Irish) sank another deep into the net. The Titans mustered their defense, holding back all other attempts, while Dan Lawson (assist: Dave Wilson) went on the offense putting the Titans on the board. Throughout the second period, Dogfish Head managed to hold onto their one point lead, while both teams maintained their defensive positions. In fact, at one point, the Titans’ goalie, Joe Alvarado, came far out of the net on a crazy save. At the top of the third period, Dogfish Head’s Fuller (assists: Stephen Cannon, Miles Garrett) scored followed by another goal from Irish (assist: Ruggiero). Irish’s goal seemed to trigger a heightened level of awareness that the Titans needed to work harder, and the level of play intensified. Still fighting, the Titans’ Robert Betts (assists: Lawson, Mike Arabia) slid one in, bringing the score to 4-2. With just over two minutes remaining, Dogfish Head’s Garrett grabbed the final goal giving his team the 5-2 win over the Titans.
