JONATHAN LANDING EAGLES PECK AWAY AT SEAFOOD CITY SHARKS

HARRINGTON, DE - November 9, 2006

On Wednesday night, two Bronze League competitors—the Seafood City “Sharks” and Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles”—played with a vengeance at The Centre Ice Rink in Harrington.

The Sharks were the first to make it on the board thanks to Andrew Whitman (assist: Sean King) who was followed by teammate Danny Trieslor (assist: Bradley Covey) who knocked a puck past JL Eagles’ goalie, deep into the net. Not to be outdone, David Gist (assist: Matthew Funston) scored for JL Eagles, followed by an amazing shot by Funston (assists: Bryan Page, William Medford) which tied the score at the end of the first period 2-2.

A few seconds into the second period, the Sharks’ Philip Kriner (assists: Whitman, Covey) grabbed a goal; however, JL Eagles’ James DiDonato (assist: Page) made the equalizer. Tied again at 3-3, JL Eagles turned up the heat and took control scoring three more times in the period. First, Funston (assist: David Schreffler) scored in a crazy play where, unfortunately, the Sharks’ Bradley Covey was injured. Thankfully, Covey returned to the ice at the start of the third period. JL Eagles’ Christopher Good wasted no time for remorse scoring twice, unassisted.

At the top of the third period, JL Eagles remained in control and in the lead as Good grabbed a hat trick (assists: Schreffler, David Gist). The Sharks fought back as Kriner (assist: Trieslor) scored again, and in the final minutes Corey Bourque (assist: Trieslor) managed the final goal for the Sharks; however, it was too little too late, and JL Eagles grabbed the 7-5 win.
