WOCM WINS TUESDAY NIGHT THEN ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT FINISH LINE WINS OVER MAD DOGS

HARRINGTON, DE - January 18, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tuesday Nights Game for the Silver League was
WOCM 98.1 vs. Dogfish Head

WOCM WINS!
WOCM fought diligently tonight to salvage a win and redeem them selves. Dogfish started off the game with the first goal by Pat Regan (assist: Ryan Lewis). WOCM’s Tom Weekes (assists: Danny Triesler and Angus Patterson) revengefully scored right after to tie the score. Matt Fuller of Dogfish team got a mouthful of wall as he was pushed in the fight for the puck. Both teams displayed their strong defenses, while their offenses used every opportunity to steal and score or at least attempt. Dogfish came close to another goal as they piled the puck on the WOCM goalie Greg Gries the last two minutes of the period, but missed just barely. Ending the first period, Jason Lindsay of WOCM took a hard fall, but was able to skate it off. The second period was off to a slow start as the puck was iced numerous times and played off sides. Finally committing, WOCM succeeded with a goal by Angus Patterson (assist: Martin White) to take back the lead. WOCM Patterson (assist: Triesler) struck again seconds later to take a 3-1 front. Dogfish’s Ryan Lewis (assist: Pat Regan and Tony Ruggiero) started their come back to tie the score 3-3 was Regan unassisted half way through the period. Later James Lattanzi (assist: White and Triesler) of WOCM scored to retake the lead. Dogfish #16 made a pass that didn’t quite come to fruition, however, made a nice recovery. In the 3rd period, both teams caught their second wind and were ready to battle it out. WOCM started the puck sliding again with a goal by Jason Lindsay unassisted, then Dogfish with some very nice team work scored, this time by Joe York (assist: Regan) for a score of 5-4. The game ended in a somewhat foul mood as a few disgruntled players vented their frustrations about a mishap on the ice. The WOCM team was happy though as they won with a final score of 5-4.

Wednesday Nights Game for the Bronze League had
Mad Dogs vs. Finish Line Collision

Finish Line Finished First!
Not exactly starting the game on the right skate, players from each team went down immediately after the first whistle (more like starting it on no skates). Before long David Sawicki scored short handed to give the Mad Dogs there first goal. Then, with some help from the goalie Finish Line player Troy Palmer (assist: James Olson) scored one for his team. Finish line was just beginning, though, as Ray Reddington scored unassisted to give his team the lead. The Mad Dogs made a nice break away off a corner face off after the puck was knocked free to coast, but sadly lost it soon after. The Mad Dogs were able to make up for it moments later with a great goal by David Sawicki (assist: John Gill) to tie the game 2-2. To end the period, Finish Line stole the lead thanks to Chris Mukoda (assist: Troy Palmer). The second period started with Finish Line still lashing to keep ahead and Mukoda (assist: Cory Perdue) scored 4-2. The rest of the period was a blur of battles for the puck back and forth across the ice. Mad Dog goalie Sharon Bark made a sweet save followed ironically by Garth Baldridge scoring unassisted for Finish Line. In the 3rd period, Finish Line Baldridge (assist: Mukoda) scored again. David Lonchar of Finish Line squad amusingly lost his edge in the excitement of being passed the puck. He recovered, but not before Mad Dogs Sawicki (assist: Zak Kimball and Troy Vokes) laid another in the net. Moments later Sawicki did it again, this time unassisted as the Mad Dogs made a come back. With the score now 6-4, Finish Line started to scramble, but only for a few minutes and Doug Backus (assist: Mike Petit De Mange) slid one in. The game ended with a final score of 7-4 as Finish Line pushed the Mad Dogs right out the door.
