WOCM HOLDS OUT AND TAKES THE WIN OVER THE BUSHMEN

HARRINGTON, DE - January 26, 2007

For Immediate Release

Thursday Nights Game in the Silver League

WOCM 98.1 vs. The Bushmen

It was a lengthy, diligent battle tonight between WOCM 98.1 and The Bushmen. Not a progressive first period as the players skated back and forth with a constant quest for the puck. Ricky Briggs and Angus Patterson of WOCM made a smooth pass, but over shot the goal. Then, Bushmen pulled a quick one by stealing the puck and racing it down to the opposite end, eventually loosing it behind the net. Continuing into the second period, the puck ventured non stop from one goalie glove to the other and then back again as the players of both teams made numerous attempts. Finally, the Bushmen bombarded the WOCM goalie Greg Gries and a relentless Kenny Meyer (assists: Chris Fahey and Greg Moffitt) beat the puck in. As the clock waned, WOCM made a huge break away from a face off, but the Bushmen goalie William Gallion held firm. At the start of the second period, Patterson of WOCM scored to tie the score unassisted on a power play. WOCM Ricky Briggs (assists: Patterson and Tim Collard) then struck while the iron was hot to take the lead 2-1. In the last two minutes of the game, WOCM called a time out as a precaution, to ensure a victory. As a result, The Bushmen decided to pull their goalie, putting them one offensive man up while WOCM was down one with a penalty. WOCM was able to hold out and took the win tonight 2-1.
