Dogfish Head vs. Titans

It wasn’t a full minute into the game before the Titan team was down a player. Dogfish gained possession quickly and kept it most of the period. After a few minutes, Dogfish scored their first goal of the game by Pat Regan (assists: Ray Reddington and Matt Fuller) on a power play. Dogfish player Sheppard took a hard dive, but got up and got in the middle to block a pass and give his team a steal. The Titans were all about team effort tonight as they protected their domain. An overly excited Titan then hit a “homerun” as the puck went flying out of the rink into the ceiling. Dogfish Joe York attempted two blue line goals, but was unsuccessful in both as Titan goalie Joe Alvarado was committed to save after save. He was given a quick rest as the Titans took control and the period ended. The second period began with Titan #7 pulled a fast one. It was of no use though as Dogfish Head regained control and ran with it. With 5 on 5 Joe York scored unassisted and almost immediately after Matt Fuller (assist: York) slide one in. pat Regan (assist: Mike Irish) completed the triple threat for a score of 4-0. It was long there after that York (assist: Jeremy Sheppard) carried the puck for the opposite end to deliver it in. The Titan goalie still had some spirit left as he ended the period with an impressive save. The third period began with a score of 5-0 and dogfish set up nicely for a goal right from the face off. Only needing one more goal for a running clock, the Titans chose wisely to interfere. They got their goal though moments later thanks to Tony Ruggiero (assist: York and Steve Cannon). The Titans getting upset turned to playing rough. They were no match tonight, as Dogfish Jon Mason unassisted scored on a power play. Even when they were down two players, William Hamilton managed to score to make the final goal of the game. Dogfish shut out the Titans starting in the first period and won the game with a final score of 8-0.
