TITANS HOLD BACK DOGFISH HEAD IN A 3-1 VICTORY; The Centre Ice Rink's Silver League Hits the Ice on Tuesday, October 4

HARRINGTON, DE - October 5, 2005

Opening night for The Centre Ice Rink’s Silver Division adult hockey league pitted Dogfish Head against the Titans. Just 17 seconds into the game, the Titan’s James Becker (assist: #5) scored giving the team a lead that would carry throughout. Becker tallied his second goal late in the first period (assist: #3). Becker’s second goal would prove to be the only scoring the Titans would need all night. The Titans added a third goal in the early part of the second period by #12 (assist: Grant Granny, Hamilton Wilson), opening up their lead to three. The Titans’ Joe Alvarado's (goalie) bid for a shutout was later squandered when Dogfish Head's Curtis Darron (unassisted) snuck a goal through Alvarado's five-hole. The opening game ended in a 3-1 score in favor of the Titans. Both teams went 0-1 on power plays.

The Centre Ice Rink at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington offers an adult (18+) hockey league; men and women are encouraged to join. The League is USA Hockey certified and Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) affiliated. Per USA Hockey standards, placement is based on interest, experience and ability. The Silver Division is designed for those players who have played organized hockey. The depth of talent is usually consistent throughout the roster and characterized by talented, heads-up play.
