For two consecutive weeks, Stover Homes’ “Outlaws” have found themselves in a “shootout”, this time against Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles”. The Outlaws capitalized early with a power play goal by Mark Hoffman (assist: Petr Lyseil). The Outlaws quickly added a second goal by Andrew Dahlke (assists: Mark Hoffman, Keith Younus). This would be the last time the Outlaws held the lead. JL Eagles struck back, during the first period, with three straight goals, including a power play by James Didonato (assist: Brian Page), Paul Butler (assist: Jamie Rau), and Paul Kaercher (unassisted), to end the first period with a 3-2 lead in favor of JL Eagles.
In the second, JL Eagles picked up where they left off with an early goal from Scott Brown (assist: Brian Page). The teams continued to exchange goals with the Outlaws offering goals from Dan Matta (assist: Mark Hoffman) and Dave Freeman (assist: Keith Younus). However, JL Eagles kept the winning edge with goals scored by David Schreffler (unassisted) and one shorthanded goal by Jamie Rau (unassisted).
Albeit the third period opened with Petr Lyseil (assist: Randy Hultman) scoring for the Outlaws, JL Eagles intended on keeping the upper-hand with a goal from David Schreffler (unassisted). Schreffler (assist: Scott Brown) would add one more goal to complete his hat trick and give JL Eagles an (8-5) win over the Outlaws. Power Plays: JL Eagles (2-4), Outlaws (1-4).

In the second pairing of NAPA’s “Predators” versus the “Mad Dogs”, the game was a goaltenders duel that came down to the final period. The goalies, Gregory Gries (Predators) and Bill Subrick (Mad Dogs), let in a combined one goal throughout the first two periods, when the Predator’s #10 slipped one past Subrick for a shorthanded goal during the first period.
Both goalies cruised through the second period without allowing a single shot to get by. However, in the third, the Predators would prove to be too powerful as they netted three goals: #10 (assist: Robert Bassett), Michael Grosso (assists: Jeff Stutzel, Lee Emmons), and #3 (unassisted). With one minute remaining in the game, the Mad Dogs’ Sean King (assist: Robert Genova) ended Gries’ bid for a shutout as the game ended (4-1) in favor of the Predators. Power Plays: Predators (0-2), Mad Dogs (0-4).

In the final game of the night, with Wilson Contracting’s “Stars” going head-to-head with “Finish Line” Collision, the game nearly replicated that of the Predators/Mad Dogs. Both goalies allowed a combined one goal through the first two periods, when the Stars’ Fred Messa (assist: Dave Lamourine, Dave Wilson) scored a power play goal early in the second.
The 1-0 score lasted until the third period when the Stars opened the offensive floodgates, scoring five goals by the end of the game: #12 (unassisted), Robert Patterson (unassisted), Dave Wilson (unassisted), #25 (unassisted), and John McCartney (assist: Dave Wilson).
Finish Line’s Corey Perdue (assist: #17) tallied the only goal for the team ending the game (6-1) in favor of the Stars. Power Plays: Stars (2-2), Finish Line (0-2).
