Press Release

THE CENTRE'S BRONZE LEAGUE OFFERED HAT TRICKS, TREATS AND SURPRISES WITHOUT MUCH MISCHIEF ON SUNDAY NIGHT

HARRINGTON, DE - October 31, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wilson Contracting’s Stars defeat Mad Dogs (7-2)
Jonathan Landing’s Eagles beat Finish Line Collision (5-3)
NAPA’s Predators over Stover Homes’ Outlaws (2-1)

Wilson Contracting’s “Stars” set the tone of the first game within the first few minutes as Dave Wilson made the first goal (assist: Charles Moore)—the first of his hat trick for the night against the “Mad Dogs”. During the first period, it appeared as if the Stars were in for some fierce competition—it was neck and neck as the Stars’ Robert Patterson (assist: John Michalik) and Robert Betts (assist: John Michalik) were met with goals from the Mad Dogs’ Andrew Whitman (unassisted) and Mark Sordi (assists: Andrew Whitman, Alan Kovitz). During the second period, however, it was obvious the Stars would maintain their undefeated status as they scored two goals by Dave Wilson, one assist from Robert Patterson. All the while, the Stars’ goalie, Joe Alvarado, worked to keep out any attempts from the Mad Dogs. In the third, Robert Betts and Fred Messa worked together to ensure the win, each obtaining a goal and assisting the other for a final score of (7-2) favor of the Stars.

In the second Bronze league game of the night, it was a constant back and forth between “Finish Line” Collision and Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles”; however, JL Eagles’ second period showing helped to secure the (5-3) win. In the first period, goals came from JL Eagles’ David Gist (assist: James DiDonato) and Finish Line’s #11 (unassisted). In the second period, albeit Finish Line’s #11 (assist: Corey Bourque) started the scoring, JL Eagle’s #19 (unassisted), Paul Kaercher (assist: David Gist), and David Gist (assist: James DiDonato) took control. In the third period, Finish Line’s Chris Mukoda (assists: Ray Reddington, Michael Petit de Mange) fought to regain control in the first few minutes; however, JL Eagles’ James Rau (assist: #19) ensured the win.

In the final game of the night, the NAPA "Predators" took on the Stover Homes "Outlaws". For the first two periods, it looked as if the Outlaws might have a shot at the win as Ray McCloskey (assists: Adam Schmidt, Keith Younus) scored the only goal. However, surprisingly in the third period, the Predators’ Michael Grosso struck twice with one assist from Brian Bassett to steal the (2-1) win.
