CENTRE ICE RINK'S BRONZE LEAGUE BATTLES IT OUT ON SUNDAY

HARRINGTON, DE - November 14, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jonathan Landing’s Eagles over Stover Homes’ Outlaws (4-2)
Wilson Contracting’s Stars beat Finish Line Collision (6-3)
NAPA Predators defeat Mad Dogs (2-0)

The first Bronze League game of the night saw Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles” take on Stover Homes’ “Outlaws.” In the first period, neither team’s goaltenders were allowing any pucks to make it in the net; however, the second period was dominated by JL Eagles. Scott Brown scored (assist: Michael Bassaro) nearly half-way into the second and was followed by a goal from David Gist (unassisted). With five minutes left in the period, James Rau (assist: Jon Burgess) scored bringing the game to (3-0). At the start of the third period, David Gist (assist: David Schreffler) was at it again, with what looked to be another JL Eagles dominated period. However, the Outlaws waged a late third period comeback with goals scored by Dan Matta (unassisted) and Keith Younus (assists: Ray McCloskey, Mark Hoffman). Despite a third period showing from the Outlaws, JL Eagles held onto the lead with a (4-2) finish.

Wilson Contracting’s “Stars” made a comeback this week against “Finish Line” Collision although Finish Line’s Chris Klein (assist: Cory Perdue) made the first goal of the game and held the (1-0) lead for the rest of the period. In the second period, the Stars’ dangerous duo, Robert Betts and Dave Wilson, dominated with Betts scoring once and Wilson twice with assists from each. At the start of the third period, Finish Line’s Ron Corder (assist: Chris Klein) scored and the equalizer came from #42 (assist: Troy Palmer). With just minutes remaining, the Stars’ leashed a fury of three straight goals from Robert Betts (assist: Dave Wilson), Robert Patterson (assist: Dave Wilson), and Charles Moore (assist: John Michalik) for the win and a final score of (6-3).

What can only be described as a defensive game, the NAPA “Predators” took on “Mad Dogs”, and the Predators’ goalie, Greg Gries, never allowed a goal through. The Predators’ Michael Grosso (assist: Richard Wawrzeniak) scored one goal in the first period, and Brian Bassett (unassisted) scored once in the second period, but that was enough to secure the (2-0) win.
