WILSON CONTRACTING'S STARS MANAGE A (3-1) VICTORY OVER JONATHAN LANDING'S EAGLES
STOVER HOMES OUTLAWS VS MAD DOGS
ENCORE!!! ENCORE!!! Last week, Mad Dogs' captain Andrew Whitman scored a hat trick. This week, he decided to follow that up was with another hat trick. Squaring off against Stover Homes Outlaws, who had defeated top ranked Wilson Stars last week, the Mad Dogs looked to climb out of last place. Just a 1:35 into the first, the Outlaws took a (1-0) lead on a goal by Petr Lyseil (assist: Mark Hoffman). Whitman (unassisted) would score his first of the night half way through the period, but the Mad Dogs would fall behind again when Andrew Dahlke (assist: John Gregory) scored. The Outlaws thought they extended their lead to two goals, but the goal was disallowed. Off of the ensuing face off, Whitman (assist: Robert Genova) would score his second on a breakaway. The Outlaws' Keith Younus (assist: Mark Hoffman) would again put them in the lead by one early in the second. However, Whitman (assist: Sean King) would secure his hat trick knotting the game at three a piece. That would be all of the scoring for the night as Outlaws' goalie Dave Freeman and Mad Dogs' goalie Joseph Subrick would each pitched shutout third periods ending the game in a (3-3) tie.
FINISH LINE COLLISION VS NAPA PREDATORS
With Wilson Contracting's Stars loss to the Outlaws last week, the NAPA Predators moved into a tie for first place and were looking to stay there. However, Finish Line came out ready to play and scored an early goal from Corey Bourque (unassisted). The early goal did not discourage the Predators, as that would be the only goal Greg Gries would allow past him. The Predators fired off four straight unanswered goals: James Trabaudo (assist: Robert Bassett, Brian Bassett), Mathew Warrington (assist: James Trabaudo), Robert Bassett (assist: James Trabaudo), and Brian Bassett (assist: Robert Bassett, Danny Ranger). If the Stars lost in the final game of the night, the Predators would retain sole possession of first place after the (4-1) victory over Finish Line.
WILSON CONTRACTING'S STARS VS JONATHAN LANDING'S EAGLES
The Stars were not ready to lose first place after occupying it for the entire season. However, the Eagles, who were sitting quietly in third place, were a threat not to be taken lightly. The Stars took the lead just four minutes into the game when Andrew Pitts (unassisted) put one past Eagles' goaltender Joseph Worts. The Eagles would answer as #92 (assist: #6) would score late in the first. Bobby Betts (unassisted) would jump out of the penalty box and put the Stars ahead with a wrist shot that found the back of the net. The game remained (2-1) in favor of the Stars until Fred "The Ageless Wonder" Messa (assist: John Michalik) tapped in an empty net goal giving the Stars the (3-1) win and keeping them atop the rankings for another week.###
