After a short holiday break, The Centre’s Bronze League jumped right back into the ice action. The first two teams to duel it out on the ice were “Finish Line” Collision and Wilson Contracting’s “Stars”. Both teams went at it in the first period with a constant back-and-forth. For every goal scored by the Stars, Finish Line was there to match it. Stars’ first period goals: Dave Wilson (assist: Robert Betts), Fred Mesa (assist: Richard Borrelli), and David Lamourine (unassisted). Finish Line’s goals: Corey Bourque (assist: Aaron Trudel), Ray Reddington (unassisted), and Chris Boyles (unassisted). The Stars dominated the second period with two goals scored by Wilson (unassisted) and Borrelli (assists: Jonathan Pitts, Felix Karpavage). In the final period, however, Finish Line dominated with goals struck by Jacob Lewis (assist: Reddinton) and Troy Palmer (assist: Chris Mukoda). It was the final goal scored by Finish Line’s Chris Boyles (unassisted) that would secure the one point lead of (6-5) over the Stars.
There was no stopping the NAPA “Predators” on Sunday night. The team dominated the first two periods shutting out any attempts from the “Mad Dogs”. Predators’ first period goal: Robert Bassett, Jr. (assist: Matthew Warrington). Predators’ second period goals: James Trabaudo, Jr. (assist: David Jerns), Warrington (unassisted), Michael Grosso (assist: Trabaudo, Jr.) and two from #03 (unassisted). In the third period, the Mad Dogs’ Andrew Whitman (unassisted) made a showing; however, the Predators’ Richard Wawrzeniak (assists: Trabaudo, Grosso) secured the final goal for the (7-1) win.
The final game of the night paired Stover Homes’ “Outlaws” and Jonathan Landing’s “JL Eagles”. With defenses high, each period only allowed one goal to pass into a net. During the first period, the Outlaws’ Ray McCloskey (assist: Joe Wobeter) struck the single goal. In the second, it looked like the Outlaws would completely dominate the game when Keith Younus scored unassisted. However, in the third period, the JL Eagles struck back with a goal from Bill Medford (assist: Brian Page). But, alas, time ran out and the Outlaws’ one point advantage offered them the (2-1) win.
