TITAN'S SECOND PERIOD SHOWING MADE FOR (6-4) WIN OVER DOGFISH HEAD

On Tuesday, The Centre Ice Rink’s Silver League’s Titans and Dogfish Head battled it out. In the first period, Dogfish Head dominated as their goalie, Sean Cannon, blocked all attempts and Jon Manson (assists: Ray Reddington, Darren Curtis) and Pat Regan (assists: Jeremy Sheppard, Darren Curtis) managed to shoot two goals past the Titan’s goalie, Joe Alvarado. In the second, however, the tables turned as the Titans blocked all attempts and scored five consecutive goals by: #1, Kyle Reynolds for two, Dave Wilson (assist: Eric Froman), and #9. Heading into the third period, it looked as if Dogfish might regain control as Darren Curtis (assist: Chase Christian) scored; however, the Titans’ Eric Froman grabbed another goal on a Power Play. Dogfish Head’s Chase Christian (assist: Tony Ruggiero, Jon Manson) scored in the final minutes; however, the strong second period play from the Titans insured them the (6-4) win.

The Centre Ice Rink at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington offers an adult (18+) hockey league; men and women are encouraged to join. The League is USA Hockey certified and Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) affiliated. Per USA Hockey standards, placement is based on interest, experience and ability. The Silver Division is designed for those players who have played organized hockey. The depth of talent is usually consistent throughout the roster and characterized by talented, heads-up play.
